PADUCAH — The staff at Western Baptist Hospital is at it again. They snapped on their pink gloves Thursday and broke out their best dance moves.

They are putting together a video for breast cancer awareness. Last year, their video came in 6th in the nation and the hope is to get even more votes this year.

A crew from Murray State University is behind the production and will have the video ready to submit for the competition this fall.

This year's video features breast cancer survivors who are also employees at Western Baptist. Patty Harrison has been cancer free for 7 years, but this is her first hear dancing for awareness.

"I'm more of a background type person," she laughed. "But it's not really about me at this point. It's about getting the word out and saving another life."

Harrision's message is about early detection. She said it's what saved her life. She had her first mammogram at the age of 36 and when she was diagnosed with cancer she underwent a double mastectomy. "I don't regret it for a moment," she said.

Tracy Hodge is also a breast cancer survivor. As a paramedic she thought her career as a paramedic was over when she was diagnosed.

"I fought every day to be able to got to work and stay at work all day and maintain as normal life as I could," she said.

She added that being a part of the Pink Glove Dance gives her a new appreciation for all of the people she works with who support her and other survivors.

"I was just looking out at all the people who are here who are not wearing pink ribbons and the support that they have to take time out of their days to be here," she said.
