Drunk driver crashes into church, vandalizes, leads deputies on high-speed chase, ends in fiery crash.
PRYORSBURG, Ky.---Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said just before 2 A.M. on Easter Sunday, 20 year old Paul D. Morgan, Junior, of Tennessee smashed his pickup into the front doors of the Pryorsburg Independent Methodist Church after a night of drinking. Redmon said a neighbor witnessed the crash and called 911.
Before deputies arrived, Redmon said Morgan caused 30 thousand dollars in damage by intentionally smashing musical equipment and vandalizing the pastor's office. Redmon said Morgan got back into his truck to evade deputies and led them on a high speed pursuit down Highway 1748 and Stubblefield Road.
The chase ended when Morgan flipped his vehicle three times, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. Redmon said his deputies rescued Morgan and took him to a local hospital where he's being treated for his injuries and burns.
Redmon said Morgan will likely be transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, and then taken to jail. He'll face DUI, criminal mischief, burglary, and fleeing and evading charges.
