Paducah Police Investigate Late-Night Shooting
Paducah police arrested 36 year old Michael Stotts and charged him with first degree robbery, second degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm. Police say it all started with a call just after 10:00 Sunday night in reference to a man with a shotgun. When police arrived at the Palm Street home they said they found 29 Justin Sterling with a gunshot wound to the foot.
Sterling told police he heard a loud banging on the door and when he came out of his bedroom to see what it was, Stotts was standing in the livingroom with a gun demanding money from Sterling and the other people inside at the time.
Paducah Police Detective Brian Laird said Stotts admitted to the robbery and shooting and told detectives where he dumped the gun.
Stotts is in the McCracken County Jail.
PADUCAH, Ky. -- Police are investigating a late-night shooting that injured one person.
Investigators responded to 1103 Palm St. Sunday night. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and the suspect is still at large.
Paducah Police Dept. Sergeant Brian Laird says the investigation is still ongoing and no other information has been released.
