MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - Three more arrests have been made in connection with a McCracken County drug trafficking investigation.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says detectives arrested 27-year-old Angelica Benitez Huerta, 51-year-old Amanda Huerta and 47-year-old Rodolfo Benitez Hernandez.

The sheriff's department says the three suspects traveled to Paducah with 32-year-old Jose Jimenez in May. Jimenez, a Paducah native, was in Mexico when Sheriff Jon Hayden initiated an undercover sting with him. Plans were made at the time to deliver drugs to Paducah.

After Jimenez arrived in Paducah from Arkansas on May 16, Hayden originally couldn't find drugs inside his SUV. He later gutted the vehicle and found four pounds of methamphetamine inside a compartment in the engine. Hayden says the street value of the drugs is about $180,000.

Jimenez was arrested in May, but the other three suspects traveled from Arkansas to Paducah in a separate vehicle. Investigators with the Independence County Sheriff's Department in Batesville, Arkansas arrested the trio at their home late last week.

All three were charged with Complicity to Trafficking in Methamphetamine and are awaiting extradition to McCracken County.
