Union County homicide suspect returned to face charges

By Todd Atchison

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - A suspect in a local murder case that was arrested hundreds of miles away is being returned to face charges.

Police arrested Michael Ellis last weekend in Mississippi. He's accused of helping tie up Gerald Dziczkowski in Dongola, Illinois and making sure he couldn't escape while being beaten.

Ellis will appear in a Union County courtroom tomorrow. A second suspect, Tommy Reams, is accused of beating and kicking Dziczkowski. He's charged with First Degree Murder and home invasion. He made his first court appearance Tuesday.
