Woman accused of sex abuse pleads guilty

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY - A mother accused of having sex with her son's 16 year old friend pleaded guilty to one count of first degree sexual abuse.

Last December, detectives found Jeannie Vannerson of Kevil locked in a bedroom with the boy.

Prosecutors dropped two other sexual abuse charges as part of a plea deal. The sheriff's department charged her under a law that prohibits anyone in a position of authority to have sexual relations with someone under 18.

The recommended sentence is one year in prison. She will have to register as a sexual offender for 20 years.
