PADUCAH, KY - Kids at a local school got a visit from an NFL quarterback today.
Clark Elementary got the visit because 4th grade student Jerome Reed entered and won the sweepstakes that lets kid plan the ultimate P.E. class. Before school Jerome invited Charlie Batch inside his house. They talked, signed autographs and Jerome held Batch's Superbowl ring.
Charlie Batch is here for NFL's Play 60 campaign. He taught the kids the importance of good health and showed them some fun fitness activities.
"It's exciting to have an opportunity to meet the kids, a lot of them are Steelers fans and football fans. You have to start them young, when you are young your just excited about playing sports, you have to use it to your advantage you have to be able to use the fuel," says Batch.
Batch led the class in jumping jacks, weight lifting and he even threw the football to them. They learned lesson that they can take with them forever during the ultimate P.E. class.
"I'm going to start doing what my coach tells me and my dad says cause what they tell me is just going to make me better," says Jerome.
It's safe to say Jerome and his classmates will continue to be active because this day is one for the record books.
"Today is one of the greatest days of my life," Jerome says.
