MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY - Four people were arrested today on drug related offenses.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division arrested the four following an investigation conducted at the Dairy Queen located at 1031 Joe Clinton in Paducah on March 9, 2010.

Officials say they've received numerous complaints over several days that Dairy Queen employees were using and/or selling marijuana in the business parking lot. Detectives decided to set up surveillance of the area to investigate.

At around 2:00 PM this afternoon, detectives saw two employees of the Dairy Queen smoking marijuana out of a pipe while still in the eatery parking lot. The two were arrested and identified as Christopher S. Young and Darren A. Moore. A search of the vehicle they were in found two plastic baggies of marijuana, a smoking pipe and a dose of Lortab. A search of Moore's vehicle seized another smoking pipe from that vehicle.

During the investigation, officers learned other people would be delivering marijuana, Oxycontin and Valium later that evening to the Dairy Queen lot. At around 6:00 PM, detectives attempted to stop a car driven by Troy E. Jones Jr. after it pulled into the parking lot. The car struck a police cruiser and then fled the scene down Park Avenue. Jones Jr. stopped the car a short time later and he and his passenger, Rachell L Freiberg were arrested.

A search of Jones found marijuana packaged for sale. A search of Freiberg revealed marijuana, four doses of Valium and one dose of Oxycontin. Jones had already been arrested in May of 2009 for trafficking in excess of eight ounces of marijuana. He is currently on felony probation in relation to that case.

All four people arrested were lodged at the McCracken County Jail.
