Obama takes healthcare to the heartland
ST. CHARLES, Mo. - President Barack Obama will tout his health care reform plan to an invitation-only crowd at St. Charles High School shortly before 4 o'clock this afternoon.
When he does, those for and against his proposal will be listening closely. But outside the political arena a new poll shows congress is real loser when it comes to the health care debate. A poll by The Associated Press and GfK find fewer people approve of Congress than at any point in the Obama presidency. But Obama's job performance rating is holding fairly steady at 53 percent. |

THE REAL PROBLEM IS CONGRESS AND SENATE. THEY VOTED THEMSELVES A RAISE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WHEN EVERYONE ELSE'S SALARIES WERE EITHER FROZEN OR CUT. I THINK THEY SHOULD PAY BACK THEIR RAISES PLUS INTEREST. THAT WOULD GO A LONG WAY TO FUND HEALTHCARE AND OTHER NEEDED SERVICES. WE ARE BROKE BECAUSE WE HAD A REPUBLICAN IN THE OFFICE WHO STAYED ON HIS RANCH MORE THAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

The country and most all states are broke. Now he wants to add healthcare to the list of things we can't afford. He will have to tax the hell out of people who work. You can't tax those who don't. Look at your paycheck, your takehome pay will be even LESS than it is now if healthcare passes.

It's a shame when Obama and Congress know we don't want this but keep pushing it down our throats. Like everything else drag it out long enough and the people will be so tired of fighting they will give up. Our country has never been in such bad shape. Open your eyes America

As a retired firemedic I feel as if I have no insurance since premium went to 17000 per year with 2000 per person deductible. This does not include copays
