Graves Co. jobs in Remington's sights
MAYFIELD, Ky. - What started as a glimmer of hope for a local community is now a done deal.
Remington Arm's Company in Graves County, Kentucky announced plans today for a $5 million expansion to its facility in Hickory, bringing 100 jobs with it.
Today, Governor Steve Beshear joined plant managers, workers and city and county leaders for the official announcement. With Graves County facing an 11.5 percent unemployment rate, many say this news couldn't have come at a better time.
The new expansion will also allow the company to create three additional types of rifles, an X-7 center fire, a semi-automatic rim fire line and a bolt-action rim fire line.
Beshear applauded the company's investment in the state and said the additional jobs will help stimulate our economy.
