Woman uses Facebook to find lost dog

Lauren Adams

PADUCAH -  Lisa Lauck tells us Sunday morning, "I feel like there's something missing."

That something missing is Bella, Lauck's beloved brussels griffon.  The dog went missing two weeks ago near Olivet Church Road.

"Everyday that goes by I just get more frustrated and concerned I'm not going to see her again," she said of the little tan-colored dog.

Like any worried "mom," Lauck has done everything in her power to make sure she does see Bella again, distributing and posting dozens of fliers.

But, in this day and age, fliers are not enough.  So, Lauck has turned to the popular social networking site, Facebook.

"It's called 'Missing Bella.' I have her pictures up and posted the information I had on the fliers," she said of the Facebook group, now boasting nearly 300 fans.

The last definite sighting of Bella was about a week ago, near Commerce Drive. Since then, tips and leads have poured in and Lauck has chased every one of them.

"I had somebody call and say she was across the river. I had to go and look and see if it was her."

But it was not, "The whole two weeks has been nothing but trying to find this dog, my baby."

Lauck refuses to give up, thanks in part to encouraging words on Bella's page.

"People tell me about pets they've lost and found and tell me to keep the faith."

She is managing to do that while her other dog, Rocco, keeps Bella's bed warm, waiting for her to come home.

If you have any information on Bella, you are asked to call Lauck at (727) 804-0852.

There is a $1,200 reward for Bella's safe return, no questions asked.

I used facebook a few weeks ago to find my lost dog. I changed my status to say that my dog had gone missing and a facebook friend had saw my missing dog and kept it in a safe place until he could find the owner. He contacted me and told me exactly where the dog was within hours of me changing my status!

A Brussels Griffon was at the Princeton Animal Shelter and advertised in local paper on last Wednesday. Hope this might be Bella.
