With the general election just one week away, Local 6 is making sure you are prepared to head to the polls.

Here is a state-by-state breakdown of voting requirements in the Local 6 area:

In Kentucky, there is no provision for early voting. Absentee ballots must by received by the county clerk's office no later than seven days before the election, meaning that the deadline is today. Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

In Illinois, you still have time to register to vote, as the deadline is November 3. Absentee ballots must be postmarked no later than midnight November 5 and must be received within 14 days of the election. Polling places are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

In Tennessee, there is still time to vote early. Early voting ends on Thursday, November 1. On Election Day, most polling places are open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. However, if you requested an absentee ballot, officials must receive it by today to count it.

In Missouri, there is no early voting. If you requested an absentee ballot, it must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day or by 5 p.m. on November 5 if casting the ballot in person. Most polls are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Hours at polling places might vary, however, so you are encouraged to check with your local polling place.
