CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY-  Dressed in a navy Murray State t-shirt, Sheila Spiceland stands in her bedroom and lets out a sigh.

"It's hard. I always look out that door. It just reminds you of what happened."

The glass in that door has now been replaced with plywood and the two people investigators say are responsible for the damage have been arrested.

Cheyanne Coleman, 21, and William Elliott, 29, have both been charged with burglary.  The pair were arrested Sunday after police responded to an alarm at Spiceland's home on Locust Grove Road shortly after 7 that evening.  The Spicelands were at church.

Jewelry, electronics, and computers are among what was taken.  And what was left behind, Spiceland says, was even worse.

"Trash, just like it was trash, they threw 'em," she said of a pair of damaged antique clocks now resting on a desk.

What was taken and how it was done was all very similar to a series of other break-ins.  The Spicelands are about the sixth house to be hit in just a two mile radius.  Across the county, more than 26 homes have been burgled in the past few weeks.

Sheriff Bill Marcum believes the two arrests made Sunday will put an end to the break ins.

"We're pretty sure we're gonna solve several other break-ins thru this incident," he said, adding more arrests were possible.

Most of what was taken from the Spiceland's home, they tell Local 6, was recovered in nearby fields and in the suspect's car.

And while Sheila Spiceland says she is thrilled with what has been recovered, she is more grateful for what the thieves left behind, her poodle.

"Everything else, it's just stuff.  It can be replaced.  But Rebel? He's my baby. We love him."
