JONESBORO, Ill.- The Union County Sheriff's Department is looking for a young man they say robbed a nursing home at knife-point.

Around 4:00 a.m. Monday, detectives said the man entered Jonesboro Nursing and Rehab Center and displayed a knife. According to investigators, he demanded drugs from the storage area and made off with an undetermined amount of narcotics. No one was hurt.
Vice President of Petersen Health Care, which runs the facility, said staff did exactly as they were supposed to.

"The staff that was there last night acted admirably," Greg Wilson said. "They did exactly what they should have done. The residents were protected and no one was harmed. "We're very proud of the staff down there in that facility."

He added that a regional team is in the area to keep an eye on things and take a closer look at the security at the building.

"We do obviously have security measures," Wilson said. "I don't know what exactly happened in this instance yet, but were looking at it and police are looking at it."

Police are also looking for help in finding the suspect. If you have information that could help, you're asked to call (618) 833-5500.
