Beshear explains why he will not appear at Fancy Farm this weekend
FANCY FARM, Ky. - This weekend, thousands of people and many important Kentucky political figures will flock to Fancy Farm for the annual picnic.
However, one key politician won't be making the trip this year: Governor Steve Beshear. Yesterday, he told Local 6 why he will not attend. Beshear says he will be busy with economic development work over the weekend.
"We're going to try everything from a job-creation standpoint in Western Kentucky that we can because it's a wonderful place to live, great quality of life," Beshear said. "As you can see, we're developing the infrastructure that we need and that businesses need, so we've got everything."
Beshear says he plans to attend the Fancy Farm Picnic next year "in the heat of the battle."
