LEDBETTER, Ky. - Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear and other officials celebrated the grand opening of the new US 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter Wednesday morning.

The four-lane bridge was originally scheduled to open next July, but state transportation officials and the contracting team came up with a plan to get the bridge partially opened with two lanes of traffic ahead of schedule.

The new span replaces the two lane Ledbetter Bridge, which was built 82 years ago.
