BENTON, Ill. - One of southern Illinois' biggest employers, a boat manufacturing plant, plans to shut down.

A total of 340 people work at the Bombardier plant in Benton, Illinois.

The company says it's closing because of a decline in sales in the marine industry.

According to Benton's mayor, Bombardier is one of Franklin County's biggest employers.
