UPDATE: The Jackson County State's Attorney's Office says there's no date set for Lacy to return since he is allegedly fighting extradition from California.

CARBONDALE, IL -- A man once facing charges in the death of a southern Illinois woman and then released when those charges were dropped is behind bars again.

Police arrested Elijah Lacy in Orange County, California on charges in the death of Falon Taylor. She was found dead in her home on January 6th, 2007.

Lacy was charged with murder in the case in 2009. Those charges were dismissed the next year, but the Illinois Supreme Court reversed that decision this year and ordered Lacy's arrest on November 1st.

He is currently awaiting extradiction to Jackson County, Illinois from California, where the United States Marshal Service arrested him today.
