Calloway County girls place second at State Golf Championships

BOWLING GREEN, KY-- A six-shot lead heading into the final day of the Girls State Golf Championships wasn't enough for Calloway County, as the Lakers finish in second place, five shots behind Sacred Heart.

After shooting a 301 as a team on Friday, Calloway County combined for a 319 on Saturday, to finish 44 shots over-par for the tournament. Defending state champion Anna Hack finished tied for seventh, shooting a +6 total.

Meanwhile, Marshall County finished tied for sixth, +98 for the tournament. The Marshals top performer was was sophomore Bailey Tyree, who finished tied for 17th at +10.

Paducah Tilghman's Teri Doss wrapped up tied for nineteenth, and Graves County's Emily Whitnell was tied for thirty-first-- both were individual qualifiers from our region.
