Cape Girardeau Police on scene of overnight shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Police continue to investigate an overnight shooting in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 1467 Kingsway Drive around 2:40 a.m. While responding to the scene, officers found a car with two men inside at the intersection of Themis Street and North Clark Street.

One of the men inside the car had a gunshot wound while the other was arrested. Police say the shooting on Kingsway Drive was connected to the car found at the intersection.

The victim is hospitalized and is listed in critical condition.

Officers then went to the home at 1467 Kingsway Drive and found several people inside. Police say everyone involved in the shooting has been identified and the neighborhood has been deemed safe.
