Carbondale Police investigating shooting
CARBONDALE, Ill. - Police in Carbondale, Illinois were called to the scene of a "shots fired" call Wednesday night.
According to The Southern, one man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
The newspaper reports that the incident took place in the area of East Jackson and North Marion streets around 9 p.m. Spent brass shell casings were found on Jackson Street, about two-thirds of a block from where it appears the man was located.
Deputy Police Chief Stan Reno confirmed to the paper that the man was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with life-threatening injuries.
A detective told Local 6 early Thursday morning they were not releasing any information about the investigation.
