MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. — Tuesday morning, Kent Barlow pleaded guilty to three charges stemming from a violent incident at his home.

Police arrested Barlow March 13 and charged him with rape and assault.

The commonwealth dropped the rape case at the request of the victim and added unlawful imprisonment and wanton endangerment.

"Today was very hard for him. He is probably at his lowest point right now. He hopes he can go from here and build back up," said Barlow's attorney Emily Rorak.

"We need to consider what he really brought on himself here. He lost his career, his reputation and now his freedom for quite a while," said Commonwealth attorney Mark Blankenship.

Barlow's plea deal carries at 10-year sentence. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 31.
