JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. - He allegedly stole more than $100,000 from the church where he worked.

On Friday, police in Carbondale, Illinois charged 32-year-old Joshua D. Swain with theft over $100,000 from a place of worship and aggravated identity theft over $10,000.  That's according to a news release from Jackson County Attorney Michael Carr.

Investigators say the crimes happened at The View Church between 2011 and June of 2013.  In 2011, Local 6 interviewed Swain while he was senior pastor at the church.

After his arrest, police took him to the Jackson County Jail.  His first court appearance is Tuesday, July 30.
