Officials meet with concerned citizens over McCracken County road widening project

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -    Local 6 has new details on a road widening project in McCracken County. 

Concerned citizens met with county officials Thursday night to discuss the plan to expand Maxon Road. 

McCracken County Judge Executive Van Newberry said that Maxon Road is one of the busiest roads in the county.

Coupled with the fact that the road has no shoulders and large trees surrounding it, county officials said the project will make the road safer and alleviate traffic issues. 

Tentative plans are to begin construction sometime in 2014.
