PADUCAH, Ky. - Paducah's Executive Inn opened in 1982 but eventually closed because of low occupancy. On Sunday, the doors closed for good following a months long liquidation sale.
All day people walked through the Big E looking for anything still up for sale.
"I found this bed," Dalfina Weatherspoon said. "I think I probably stayed on it when I stayed here."
Weatherspoon and her friend walked through the old hotel trying to remember what it used to look like years ago.
"It looks different (from when) we stayed here," Weatherspoon said. "Had a wedding here now it's scary looking."
Her friend added, "It feels like you are in the Titanic because it's old and creepy."
The liquidation company reached the goal they set at the beginning of the sale. The remaining furniture is being donated to the River City Mission. Demolition of the Big E begins Monday.
