GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. - A Graves County man convicted of arson and murder learned his fate this morning.

A judge followed the jury's recommendation and gave Cole Douglas Ross two life sentences.

This is the second time Ross has been on trial for the death of Keith Colston.

Colston's former wife, Lisa has been in the court room every step of the way and told WPSD while the verdict and sentence give her some closure, it doesn't give her answers.

"I have no idea why he done it," she said. "I have no idea, but my husband knows and Doug knows and the good Lord knows."

The first trial ended with a hung jury, but this time around the jury sided with Commonwealth Attorney David Hargrove who argued that it was Ross who set the fire three years ago that killed Colston.

Ross maintains he's innocent and his attorney, Nathan Goodrich, is planning to appeal.

If the sentence stands as is, Ross will be eligible to go before a parole board in 20 years.
