PADUCAH — A spokesperson for Comcast says cable and Internet outage in the Paducah area is due to a severed fiber.

Patrick Paterno could not say how long the outage has been going on or exactly when service should be back up. He said crews are working to restore service and it should be back soon.

Customers who call the local Comcast office at (270) 442-6382 to report an outage will be told that there is an outage and they are aware of it. However, they will also be given the option to sign up to receive an automated call when service is restored.
