BENTON, Ky. - New details on a family cemetery that is possibly under a construction site.
The mayor of Benton, Kentucky says that work on land near the future Marshall County Childrens' Art Center remains on hold.

City leaders knew there could be human remains in the ground on a site that's supposed to be turned into a green area adjacent to the center.

In early September, crews found a box at the site that contained the remains of a child.

The city now waits to hear from an archeologist before they decide on what to do next.

They can either put a marker on the site or move the remains.

Since they halted work last week there's no word of any other remains.

The closest relatives to the family rumored to be buried at the site say they support whatever city leaders decide.
