Cooling centers open up around Local 6 area

If you need a place to cool down during the triple digit heat, there are a number of places opening up around the region.

McCracken County, Kentucky:

McCracken emergency management has not opened cooling centers, but they do urge those needing to escape the heat to head to public places like the McCracken County Public Library or the mall.

Ballard County, Kentucky:
First Baptist Church in La Center
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Union County, Illinois:
Anna Heights Baptist Church
8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon. - Fri. and Sunday.

Eddyville, Kentucky:
Old courthouse until 4 p.m, Friday
Then until 4:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday

New Bethel Baptist Church until 4pm Friday

Eddyville United Methodist Church will be a cooling station open daily until the heat breaks.

Benton, Kentucky:
