Crews begin cleaning out former Executive Inn Showroom
PADUCAH, Ky. - City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works and Parks Services Department crews will begin cleaning out what's left of the former Executive Inn Showroom this week.
The showroom is attached to the back of the Julian Carroll Convention Center in Paducah.
“I am pleased that we are able to complete this improvement project with our crews,” City Manager Jeff Pederson said. “This work will clear the slate for planning that could result in this 40,000 square foot space once again becoming a community asset.”
Among the items crews will remove are carpeting, ceiling panels and other assorted debris. The process will begin with the removal of the exterior end panel of the building, which will allow for easier access to roll-off dumpsters once cleaning begins inside. The panel will be re-installed after debris is removed from the inside.
The showroom was left standing when the former Executive Inn was demolished in 2011. The City of Paducah purchased the property in 2009.
