MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - A local woman was charged with murder and driving under the influence after a deadly head-on crash killed one man and injured two more in Marshall County Monday night.

Crash reconstructionists are back on the scene of a deadly head-on crash today. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says it happened Monday night on US 68 in Sharpe.

Deputies say Tiffany Pittman of Paducah veered into oncoming traffic and hit Marshall County resident Steven J. "Jimmy" Harper's pickup truck head on. Mr. Harper died at the scene; both Pittman and her passenger were taken to Lourdes Hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck. Harper was wearing a seatbelt, but Pittmann and her passenger were not.

Ms. Pittman tested positive for alcohol, and was charged with murder, 1st degree assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence (under 21), failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card, failure to wear seat belts, and instructional permit violations. After being released from the Emergency Room, Ms. Pittman was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
