Death ruled a homicide for woman shot in Ohio ICU

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A medical examiner in Ohio is confirming that a woman who was shot in a hospital's intensive care unit died of a gunshot wound to her head in what may have been a mercy killing.
   
The victim's husband who is accused of shooting his wife appeared in court Tuesday. He's charged with an aggravated attempted murder charge that could be upgraded now that an autopsy has been completed.
   
An Akron municipal court judge set bond for 66-year-old John Wise at $1 million.
   
A county medical examiner's finding issued Tuesday following the autopsy says Barbara Wise's death was a homicide.
   
John Wise is charged with shooting his wife of 45 years at her bedside at Akron General Medical Center Saturday. She died the next morning.
