BOSTON (AP) - James "Whitey" Bulger and his former partner, Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi, will face one another for the first time in almost 20 years when Flemmi takes the witness stand to testify against Bulger at his racketeering trial.

Flemmi is expected to testify Thursday in U.S. District Court in Boston.

The 79-year-old Flemmi pleaded guilty to 10 murders and agreed to testify against Bulger. He is now serving a life sentence.

The two men haven't seen each other since 1994, when their FBI handler, John Connolly, tipped them off that they were about to be indicted.

Bulger fled and was one of the nation's most wanted fugitives until he was captured in Santa Monica, Calif., in 2011.

The 83-year-old Bulger is accused of participating in 19 killings during the 1970s and '80s.
