MOUND CITY, Ill. - Gathered in prayer, the family of 43-year-old Robert Goins turns to their faith for comfort.
"We were just praying that to turn it over to God and I know He knows best and He has plans for us all," Myra Hargrove said.
Hargrove is Goins' aunt. She said Goins spent hours - even years - going up and down the Ohio River and she never thought rescue crews would do the same searching for her nephew.
"He knows the river well. We're just praying they'll find him," she said.
Anita Bugg is Ballard County's Emergency Management Director. She said these waters can be treacherous to even the most experienced boaters.
"If you're going to be on the river, take nothing for granted. People say they know the river, but it changes daily, it changes hourly," Bugg said.
Hargrove and the rest of her family plan to keep watch until Goins is found. She knows the chances of finding him alive are slim, but she wants to thank the rescue crews who are trying to make that happen.
"We're very grateful for all the help, all the rescue teams and the people that are volunteering," Hargrove said.
