Fatality collision results in arrest for manslaughter, DUI

 AURORA, Ky - A local man from Murray has been arrested on charges of 2nd degree manslaughter and DUI after a two vehicle fatality collision.

Jeffrey Nelson was traveling the wrong way in the westbound lane of the four lane Highway 80 when he struck the Megan McCoy who was driving on Highway 80 in the proper lane and making a left turn onto Highway 68.

McCoy was struck on the driver side, and pronounced dead on the scene.

After accident reconstruction, Nelson was arrested on charges of 2nd degree Manslaughter and Operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

Nelson is held in Marshall County Detention Center.
