Fire Chief: fighting county fires is a burden

HARRISBURG, Ill. — "We have a serious problem".

 
Those blunt words from a city fire chief who said his county must start forking over money in order to keep his department going. 
 
The problem is that Harrisburg, Illinois Fire Chief Bill Summers said he doesn't have the resources to continue to fight fires outside city limits.
 
So, he's proposing the county pay up or form their own fire department. 
 
As Local 6's Robert Bradfield explains, it's leaving county leaders with some tough decisions.
