Former preacher, mistress enter plea deal in murder case

UNION CITY, Tn. - The former pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Union City, Tennessee, along with his mistress, reached a plea agreement in their murder trial, according to WENK radio.

The radio station reports Edward Mallonee and Shelly Moran pleaded guilty Friday to felony reckless endangerment, which is a lesser charge the two were charged with originally.

Mallonee and Moran were arrested earlier this year after police say they tried to poison Mallonee's wife.

The two were initially charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder and attempt to commit first-degree murder.

WENK reports Mallonee and Moran will avoid jail time, but will be under supervised probation under the plea agreement.
