Former restaurant offers free meals and relief from the cold

PADUCAH -- A former restaurant is offering warmth on a cold day with some free meals.

Martha's Vineyard offered a place to warm up and a lunch of pasta, fruit, and green salad at its new location on Paducah's North 32nd Street. People could also pick up free coffee, hot chocolate, or a soup to go.

Even though the extreme cold might be to blame, owner Martha Bell always wants to be ready for people in need.

"I can't imagine being cold and hungry and no place to get in out of the cold. We even take care of the animals, so why not take care of each other," Bell said.

Today's extra food and drink offerings were made possible at Martha's Vineyard by a donation from the law office of Brian Katz.
