Harry Potter fans anxious to see last film

PADUCAH — Harry Potter fan Sharon Felker got in line at 8:30 a.m.

"I am a big Harry Potter fan," she said.

Fellow Potter fan Kaitlyn Kelly said, "It's the end of a era. We grew up with this stuff and we all fell in love with the characters, and it's something that we don't want to get rid of."

But the end is here. Well, it has been for a while. The last book came out in 2007.

Felker said, "I'm a real fan of the books. The thought of going to get a book at midnight was a little bit more thrilling."

She has been a fan since the beginning.

"Probably a little bit of the escapism that there's this other world. Although I realize that's not true, it's still something you can absorb," she said.

But they can't escape the line. Felker got here at 8 a.m. for a midnight showing.

"Just sit down and play cards, have some new friends, meet some new people and just share our experience with them," she said.

An experience with other avid Potter fans, waiting.

Felker said, "It's just the excitement of it. It's not so much being first in line as it is just to be here and share what means a lot to you with a lot of other people."

Sharing the end of the world of Harry Potter.
