PADUCAH, Ky - The Kentucky Highway and Transportation Department are reporting things have been relatively quiet overnight, but are still urging drivers to use caution and to avoid unnecessary travel.

There is still snow blowing across highways, which can create slick spots although it hasn't posed an issue yet.

Crews treated all routes overnight, but the chemical salt treatment's impact is diminished until temperatures rise about 18 degrees Fahrenheit.

As the temperatures likely won't rise greatly, hazardous driving conditions will continue through to Wednesday morning.

Although the wind has helped to dry road surfaces, there is still a chance of black ice forming where the pavement is wet.

In District One, all counties are clear and McCracken is on standby to patrol and spot treat Interstate 24 and other major roadways.
