House fire claims one victim

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. — A house fire turned deadly after the homeowner was found unconscious in her bedroom.

The fire tore through a home in Benton, Kentucky late Friday evening. 
 
Neighbors spotted smoke coming from the 500 block of Briensburg-Tatumsville Road just before 10p.m. Friday. 
 
The nephew of the victim tells WPSD Local 6 that his aunt, 48-year-old Stacey Gipson, died in the fire.
 
He said Gipson lived in the home with her daughter and two grandkids, but they weren't home at the time. 
 
There's no word on the cause of the fire.
