Victims identified in I-24 WB crash in Trigg County

TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. - Two North Carolina residents are dead in a tractor trailer crash on I-24 in Trigg County, Kentucky.

A tractor trailer veered off the right shoulder of the highway between mile markers 61 and 62, striking several trees and ejecting both occupants.

Two men, 34-year-old Joseph A. Robinson of Wendell, N.C. and 55-year-old Larry D. Artis of Wilson, N.C., were pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not yet known which person was the driver and if they were wearing seatbelts.

According to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the crash, which occurred around 9:30 last night, caused I-24 near mile marker 62 to close down its westbound lanes.

This morning, westbound traffic remains restricted to one lane due to debris from the collision.

TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. - A serious crash involving a semi has caused a lane closure along I-24 in Trigg County, Kentucky.

According to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the crash, which occurred around 9:30 last night, caused I-24 near mile marker 62 to close down its westbound lanes.

This morning, westbound traffic remains restricted to one lane due to debris from the collision.

This restriction is expected to be in place until at least noon today.

The crash remains under investigation.
