Jailer proposes new option for paying for prescription drugs
McCracken County, Ky.- Every jail has inmates who rely on prescription medication and McCracken County jailer Bill Adams said he's got a plan to help curb the costs put on taxpayers.
"It actually states that you could use it for recreational, vocational, or medical procedures," said Adams. It was the medical procedures part that caught his eye and gave him the idea. He wants to propose an annual contribution to the general fund to help pay for the prescription medications the inmates need. His first proposal will be around $40,000.
Adams will present the proposal at the next fiscal court meeting on November 11.
