PADUCAH, Ky. - Road construction is already a big deal on Paducah, Kentucky's southside.  Now comes news that more changes are on the way.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesperson Keith Todd says workers plan a traffic shift along the US 60/Irvin Cobb Drive work zone on Thursday or Friday, October 17 or 18, 2013, weather permitting.

Traffic is already restricted to the eastbound lanes in that area.  That's because work is being performed on the westbound lanes.

Right now, the contractor plans to move two-way traffic to the westbound lanes to allow reconstruction of the eastbound lanes.

According to a cabinet news release, "To maintain traffic flow through this work zone, some intersections and business entrances may be restricted.  However, all businesses along this work zone will have access from at least one entrance or from the rear via frontage roads and parking lots."

The reconstruction project is scheduled to be complete November 30, 2013.
