HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police in southwestern Kentucky are investigating the death of a woman found strangled to death inside a vacant apartment.

Hopkinsville Police Detective Richard McCormick told The Kentucky New Era that police initially found no sign of foul play after discovering 44-year-old Kathleen M. Davis' body lying on the floor of the apartment Saturday night.

But, McCormick says, an autopsy concluded someone strangled Davis and now the investigation is being treated as a homicide.

The initial report indicated police have a suspect, but all of the information about the suspect was deleted.

Police spokesman Paul Ray says no one had been arrested as of Monday morning.
