MAYFIELD, Ky—The winter weather has some families desperate to stay warm.  If your stuck in a bind without heat, your family may soon be in luck.

LIHEAP Director Tony Dowdy said he wants to help as many families as possible, but money is tight.

"We can only help a small amount with maybe five or six families, but we can do more for them if they're able to hold off until the 13th," said Dowdy.  Applications for energy assistance crisis can be made from January 13th through the end of March.

If you would like to help families stay warm throughout the winter, you can donate to the LIHEAP program by contacting the office at (270) 247-4046.
