Local 6 celebrates National Cookie Month

Marissa Hollowed

PADUCAH, Ky. - Is there any better way to kick off October than with a fresh batch of cookies?

Today is National Cookie Day and the start of National Cookie Month.

Local 6's Marissa Hollowed was live this morning at Kirchhoff's Bakery in downtown Paducah, where the bakery began making what will be known as the "Marissa" cookie.

The special cookie will be sold at Kirchoff's Bakery this week "until the dough is gone," according to Kirchhoff's Don Barger. A full 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Project AIDS Orphan.

Project AIDS Orphan is the local group Marissa traveled to Africa with in September.

Check out the video to see the making of the "Marissa" cookie.
