PADUCAH, Ky. - Retail sales for this holiday season are expected to reach $460 billion and some stores at Kentucky Oaks Mall are wanting your business before Black Friday.

"Anytime I can save money or if there are coupons online that I can use, definitely using those," said Natalie Hayden.

She's a mother of three and said this year she's checking her kids lists twice and if she can save by shopping early, she'd rather do without the Black Friday frenzy.

"If I can get in there on a Sunday and shop earlier, I'm all about saving some money especially in this economy," Hayden said.

But Heather Littrell takes a different approach.

"I'll go with the friend Thursday night after Thanksgiving for the midnight sales," Littrell said.

Those sales may not last until Friday. Some businesses are offering deals only good through Wednesday. While Littrell enjoys the late night bargains, she said earlier deals may end up being the better deal.

"I think it's great for business. It's always so crowded and you can buy more stuff then," she said.

Both Littrell and Hayden said they're bigger savers than spenders, so the sticker price isn't what they're too worried about, it's their overall total savings that count.

"Any penny I can save is great," Hayden said with a smile.
