Local woman arrested on meth-related charges
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division received a tip alleging a Paducah woman was trafficking crystal methamphetamine Tuesday morning. The woman, Ashley Fugate, was arrested at approximately noon on that same day.
While initiating the investigation regarding the tip, the department said Fugate was stopped for several traffic violations on the parking lot of a local business on Hinkleville Road. While conducting the traffic stop, Deputy Croft’s K9, Pepo, alerted on Fugate’s vehicle.
Fugate was reportedly on felony probation stemming from a trafficking in methamphetamine conviction in Marshall County in 2010.
During the investigation, deputies said Fugate was found to be concealing a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe that also contained a quantity of meth. They said the items were concealed in a body cavity.
Fugate was arrested for several drug offenses and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
