Man arrested on charges of kidnapping, assault, rapePADUCAH - Police have charged a Paducah man with rape and assault for allegedly kicking open the door to a woman's home, tying her up, and sexually assaulting her. Paducah Police investigators say 30-year-old Joshua L. Cozart kicked open the door to a 48-year-old woman's home on Pines Road, despite the fact the woman had an active Domestic Violence Order against Cozart. He then allegedly bound her and physically assaulted her before raping her. The unnamed victim was treated for fractured bones in her face and elsewhere. After a warrant was issued, Paducah Police received information that Cozart was at a home in Marion, Ky. and requested assistance from the Marion Police Department. Authorities in Marion arrested Cozart about 4 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Rochester Street. He was returned to Paducah and booked into the McCracken Regional Jail. Cozart was arrested on a warrant charging him with kidnapping, first degree rape, first degree sodomy, second degree assault and violation of an EPO/DVO. |
